Register for the prayer meeting
Thank you again for joining us in such numbers for our first climate prayer meeting on 14 August: more than 150 people registered, and around 130 participants gathered online to bring climate change and creation before God together. It was a wonderful time, and a real encouragement to see so many brothers and sisters come together in this way.
Summer is drawing to a close and the heatwaves are temporarily receding — but the climate issue itself must not fade away with them. Climate disruption continues, and so does our call to respond to it, through prayer, awareness-raising and training, and action.
A sign that this aspiration reaches far beyond our own circles: the launch of Jean-Marc Jancovici’s Un commun accord initiative — which proposes a citizens’ convention on the physical limits of our world — has sparked an unprecedented wave of support, proof of a genuine appetite, within society, for a serious debate on these questions; likewise the climate march on 26 September, which we invite you to take part in.
We would therefore like to invite you to a new online prayer meeting, with A Rocha France’s prayer for creation community and ambassadors’ network. This initiative also fits naturally within the World Week of Prayer 24/7, held in partnership with SEL, and within the Season of Creation, from 1 September to 4 October.
🕊️ Friday 11 September, 6–7pm, on Zoom. A simple time to pray together, listen, give thanks and intercede for our planet, for humanity and for biodiversity.
Whether you took part in the first meeting or this is your first time, you are very welcome!
We would also love to receive your prayer requests, by Wednesday 9 September at the latest, by email to [email protected]: we will try to group them by theme so they can feed into our time together.
Looking forward to seeing you on 11 September,
Jean-François,
for the A Rocha France team
P.S. The presentation slides will be shared after the meeting, as they were after the one on 14 August. However, as last time, there will be no recording — so do join us live on 11 September!
